  This a recording of SR 160 (just one of the 200 Secret Records I have produced).
  
  Secret Records are hand-made sculptural resin castings, using found vinyl LP records as a source mould. Most of these discs contain found objects embedded within the resin. Each Secret Record is unique in appearance and source mould. There were approximately 250 of these created between 1995-1998. They directly capture the grooves of the source record, giving these objects inverted grooves. This disc focuses solely on recordings of Secret Record 160, in which is embedded rejected tape containing sound of a mysterious origin.
  
  One thing about Secret Records is that they are sculpture which make sound.  There is the visual aspect, of which I focused on more when I made them.
  There is also the audio aspect, which is a fascinating thing.. When they are made,  systems are created which present  a  new discovery - of listening experience, recontextualization of familiar elements,  via a methodology of making a consistent  object, capturing the air above a found vinyl record as a  solid (resin casting).
  The source records I choose are dollar bin variety- instrumental, children’s music, easy listening..
   By re-playing these objects, there is little control over the results of the casting process (of which the outcome is inverted grooves and other anomalies).
  Mysterious results are revealed. Some of the castings aren’t even playable on a standard phonograph, although sounds are still hidden within the grooves.
  
  This only addresss the audio aspect of these objects.. There’s also the visual.
